I’m back!
Posted by mounddweller on January 1, 2018
Fellow Investors,
A new year has arrived and I have returned from a multi-year hiatus from writing in my blog. Going forward the blog will have a new focus. Previously, I focused on trading covered calls and naked puts for income. Now that I’m a few years older and a little bit wiser, I’ve learned there’s a less stressful way to fund my retirement years. Over the next couple of weeks I hope to introduce you to my new approach.
Until next time…
Regards,
Troy

I pretty much morphed into the same investing style as you have. a few years ago I realized I was spending way too much time chasing premiums and also trying to catch a falling knife. I got interested in passive income when I came across a blog, “Dividend Mantra”, and read an interesting book “How a Second Grader Beats Wall Street” by Allen S. Roth. I started out buying small positions in the Dogs of the DOW, basically those with yields above 3%. As the market began to climb I began taking profits when a position gained at least 20% (and held more than 12 months) and then started buying bond funds (AGG & DMF ) to begin to balance out at 50/50. So I rarely take a look at the market. I got an app on my phone to keep an eye on the market if need be.

Rich,
Yes, I decided a retirement chained to a desk watching the market every day wasn’t much of a retirement. Do you still have your boat and RV?

Troy

Still have the RV. Sold the boat a few years ago. Here is a link to our travel blog. Needs some updating: https://dianeandrichtravels.blogspot.com/
